Knowing God MissionsCanadian Registered Charity

A Canadian charity serving East Africa

Knowing God Missions

Walking with communities in East Africa as they grow in the knowledge of God — and standing with vulnerable families as they find food, learning, and hope.

Daily Bible teaching across Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda, Congo, and Kenya; secondary-school scholarships for children from the poorest households; and practical care for the most vulnerable — led by a pastor born in one of the villages this mission serves.

What your giving does

Three ways we serve, one mission

A community gathered outdoors among the hills

The Word, freely given

Daily biblical teaching across East Africa through WhatsApp, plus a free Bible school, devotionals, and printed discipleship books — in seven languages, at no cost to any learner. In 2025, 150 pastors were trained and weekly Classes of Service began gathering 78 committed learners.

Compassion that arrives

Food for poor households, help with hospital bills, and livestock for widows and orphans. In 2025 alone: forty vulnerable families received goats to build a livelihood, and seventy people came under health coverage.

A seat in the classroom

Secondary school in East Africa is not free. The GRACE Scholarship Program keeps bright students from the very poorest households in school and full of hope — in Rwanda first, and expanding across the region.

Our founder

Born in the village this mission serves

Pastor Fidele Bolton was born in Gasundwe, a remote village in Rwanda, and walked over an hour to primary school each day. Years later — after theological training in England and pastoral ministry there — he returned to Gasundwe and saw his home with new eyes.

Fidele now lives in the Ottawa–Gatineau region with his wife Claire and their children, and leads Knowing God Missions as a volunteer — a son of the village, inviting Canadians to serve alongside him in a work that now reaches six countries across East Africa.
